It is just about draft time for recent college players who have declared for the NFL. That means that the Atlanta Falcons have the opportunity to pick up some fresh talent. Rumors usually rule the roost in the days leading up to the big night, and this year holds true to that norm. Here are five rumors that have been circling around the Atlanta Falcons draft options.
Shane Ray- Mizzou
The Falcons look to fortify their pass rush if their sights are set on Shane Ray. This D-lineman will not be around in the later rounds so they will need to use their 8th pick overall to secure him on their roster.
Todd Gurley- Georgia
Already popular in the state of Georgia, Todd has won the hearts of many existing Falcons fans. The popularity based vote would see this runner put on the red and white of ATL birds.
Duke Johnson in the second round
If the Falcons pass over Todd for Shane, look for Duke to get picked up out of University of Miami in the second round.
Devin Funchess- Michigan
Projected at a late-first to mid-second round pick, the Falcons may look to get deeper in the Tight end position with Devin. He will have to slide to the 42nd pick overall in order to join the Falcons ranks, but many are hoping he joins their offensive unit.
Bud Dupree- Kentucky
The most surprising option for the Falcons would be the pick up of Linebacker Bud Dupree at the number 8 overall position. Should Ray get picked before Atlanta’s 8th position, they seem to have no problem selecting Dupree as their defensive addition.
